Sir Lindsay Hoyle berated the government for announcing a 3% pay rise for NHS staff without first notifying Parliament.

The Speaker of the House has repeatedly criticized the government for not informing the House of Commons of major policy announcements before first informing the media.

This is not the first time that the president has complained that the government is making political announcements outside parliament. In June, Sir Lindsay accused Number 10 of “flouting MPs”.
