Talks with Neymar over a new contract are “on track”, while talks with Kylian Mbappe are still ongoing, Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo said on Thursday.

The two star strikers of the French champions – the two most expensive players in the world – are both without a contract in June 2022.

Several media reports suggested that a deal with Neymar had already been reached.

“It’s on the right track,” Leonardo told France Bleu Paris radio station. “But at the end of the day, a contract is signed when it is signed, and it isn’t yet.”

Mbappe, who like Neymar joined PSG in 2017, has been heavily linked with a future move to Real Madrid.

“We had a chat (with Mbappe),” said Brazilian Leonardo.

“We have been talking for a long time. It’s always clearer. We will come to the point where we have to take a stand, a decision.

“I think we’re getting closer and closer to that moment each time.”

Leonardo has also confirmed that PSG want to extend the contracts of Angel Di Maria and Juan Bernat, whose contracts expire at the end of this season.
